SUMMARY:Embrace Your Genius-ness: Unwrapping God’s gift of Feminine Genius. (Women Only Retreat)
DESCRIPTION:This month\, as we especially honor Our Blessed Mother and her unwavering “Yes” to God\, join us as we reflect on the unique gifts women bring to the world.  St. John Paul II called these gifts the Feminine Genius—the distinctive ways women reveal God’s love\, beauty\, and truth through their lives. \nThrough inspiring stories of women who have embraced their spiritual femininity\, you will discover how to recognize and cultivate your own feminine genius.  Together\, we will explore what it means to join Mary in her “Yes” and become Christ-bearers in our families\, communities\, and everyday lives. \nOur time together will include engaging presentations\, meaningful small-group discussion\, and ample opportunities for silent\, prayerful reflection.  Come away to the peaceful setting of the Abbey\, where the prayerful presence of the monks provides a sacred atmosphere for rest\, renewal\, and encounter with the Lord. \n  \nPresenters: \nMolly McCarthy has dedicated her life to parish and diocesan ministry\, serving communities across the Southern United States and California.  Most recently\, she served as Director of Evangelization and Outreach at St. Kateri Parish in Santa Clarita. \nFor more than 20 years\, Molly has led women’s retreats in Georgia\, Mississippi\, Texas\, and California\, helping women deepen their relationship with Christ and discover God’s presence in their daily lives.  In 2023\, she and her retreat partner\, Nancy Medina\, co-founded INSPIRED\, an annual women’s conference serving the San Fernando Region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. \nNancy Nazarian-Medina serves the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as the San Gabriel Regional Coordinator for the Office of Religious Education.  She brings over 25 years of catechetical experience\, having served in parish formation programming as both a catechist and a Director of Religious Education.  A seasoned retreat presenter\, Nancy develops retreats to bring participants into an encounter with the love of Christ\, using a range of modalities to create a rich retreat experience.  Nancy is the co-founder of INSPIRED\, a women’s conference entering its fourth year in Fall 2026\, serving the San Fernando Pastoral Region.  She is a California Certified Catechist and a graduate of the Catholic Bible Institute. \n*If the event is listed as sold out\, please call us at 661-944-2178 for real-time availability and a waiting list. \n**The Start and End times for the retreat reflect the check-in and check-out times.

SUMMARY:Discovering\, Uncovering\, and Using Your Spiritual Gifts
DESCRIPTION:On Pentecost\, the Church celebrates the fulfillment of Christ’s promise to his disciples to send the Holy Spirit.  As reported in Acts 1:8\, Jesus said “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.” Thus\, Christians have been given charisms or spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit to be channels of God’s love and redeeming presence in the world.  “Whether extraordinary or ordinary\, charisms are to be used in charity or service to build up the church.” Catechism of the Catholic Church\, CCC 2003. \nIn this retreat\, participants will learn what are the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit\, and how they differ from spiritual gifts.  Using a spiritual gifts inventory\, retreatants will be guided in ways they can begin to discern and exercise their God given spiritual gifts\, both in the church and in the world. \n  \nPresenter: Mary Schulte\, Obl. OSB\, has been an oblate of Saint Andrew’s Abbey since 2008.  She has a B.A. in history\, with a minor in French\, and a J.D. (law degree). She served as Chairperson of the Ecumenical and Inter-religious Commission for the Diocese of Orange from 1999-2005.  She has been a lector in her parish for over 25 years.  She participates in a Christian Life Community (CLC) with fellow legal professionals who completed the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.  She is co-coordinator of the Orange County oblate group\, and one of four oblate mentors for the Orange County area.  She writes for the Abbey Chronicle\, and has presented retreats at the Abbey on discernment of spiritual gifts\, the spirituality of aging\, and finding God in silence \n*If the event is listed as sold out\, please call us at 661-944-2178 for real-time availability and a waiting list. \n**The Start and End times for the retreat reflect the check-in and check-out times.  We will provide the retreat itinerary at check-in.
