Monastic Traditions of Prayer and Modern Spirituality (Zoom Option)
Modern methods of “contemplative prayer” often emphasize apophatic spirituality: that is, on the experience of imageless, wordless rest in God’s Presence. In this workshop we will explore ancient and modern monastic authors who encourage the integration of this dimension of sacred silence with the rich dynamic of kataphatic, image-filled liturgical prayer.
